A four- member delegation from the Nigerian Armed Forces Command and Staff College, (NAFCSC) Jaji, paid a three- day visit to the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College (GAFCSC) on Monday 22 Febuary, 2010.

The visit was to establish a friendly relationship between NAFCSC and GAFCSC and to learn more about the operations of the Ghana Armed Forces. The delegation paid courtesy call on the Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS), Lt Gen Peter Blay, where they exchanged pleasantries.

They later called on the various Service Chiefs and were briefed on the structure, organisation and capabilities of the Army, Navy and the Air Force respectively.

The team also visited the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre (KAIPTC) and the Military Academy and Training Schools (MATS). During different briefing sessions at these institutions, they all identified inadequate logistics and equipment as their main challenge. They however hinted that despite these constraints, they were able to use the limited resources at their disposal judiciously.

The leader of the delegation, Air Vice Marshal Sunday Ali Leks, who is also the Commandant of the NAFCSC, thanked the CDS and the Service Chiefs for hosting them. According to him, he had learnt a lot from the GAF especially GAFCSC and promised to implement all that he had learnt back home.

He added that even though Nigeria has the biggest Armed Forces in the West Africa sub region, GAF has a lot of experience the Nigeria Armed Forces can tap from.
