The outgoing British Defence Advisor made this known when the two called on the Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS), Lt Gen PA Blay at his office in Burma Camp. Lt Col Mellows said the visit was to bid the Ghana Armed Forces farewell and to formerly introduce the new Advisor to the Military High Command.

Welcoming the new Advisor, the CDS urged Lt Col Gash to strive against all odds to seek to Ghana’s interests to improve his country’s support for Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College (GAFCSC) courses, especially, the Disaster Management Course, and asked for an increase of an exchange programme of Directing Staff from two to three.

Lt Gen Blay suggested that the two countries should also collaborate to come up with a Disaster Management scheme for students at both Colleges and training packages in other areas between Ghana and the United Kingdom at large.

He hoped the relations built by Ghana and the United Kingdom over the years would continue for better coordination and enhancement of the two militaries.

Lt Col Anton Gash on behalf on his government, called for long and fruitful relations with Ghana and stated that he would play a key role to fighting Ghana’s interests.
